Now lets talk a bit about fiberglass products, just as with other suppliers of fiberglass RC products, there will be blemishes. You will see pin holes when you go to finish it for paint.
We recommend the following if you plan on doing the Primer and prep work yourself.
Get a good high build primer such as Restoration Shop

  • Spray a medium coat and sand down with 600 ~ 800 grit
  • Repeat this until you sand out any fisheye(s) and pinhole(s)
  • Wet sand to minimum 3000 grit
  • tack cloth down and spray a base coat such as Stitts Aerothane

Description

This is a reproductionset of wheelpants for the Taylorcraft made by Jim Simpson. we use a combination of 2~6 ounce e-weave fiberglass and west systems epoxy and 3m filllers to produce a high quality scale product. Please note that as in any non-bagged fiberglass process, minor imperfections such as fiberglass overlaping areas and brush marks may show through from the inside as can be seen in the picture.

The Ims Simpson Swick Taylorcraft 1/4 Scale is a scale model aircraft kit designed by Jim Simpson and modeled after the Taylorcraft aircraft rebuilt by Mike Swick. This balsa-and-ply craft is known for its beautiful design and aerobatic capabilities. It features ailerons, elevator, rudder, and throttle controls for precise maneuvering. The model is designed for 1.08 to 1.80 2-stroke engines or 1.20 to 1.60 4-stroke engines. It has a wingspan of 82.5 inches and a length of 68 inches.
